ABOUT

About Nelson

Nelson Godfrey is a Tanzanian filmmaker, cinematographer, and editor working across documentary, adventure, and cultural storytelling. Based in Tanzania, his films move between the ground and the air — from expedition documentaries on Mt. Kilimanjaro to aerial perspectives captured by drone.

His work is rooted in place. Projects like Return to the Okavango Delta follow the rhythm of water through one of Africa’s last great wetland wildernesses, while his Indigenous Wisdom Storytelling Workshop documentation captured the AFRISOS & Great Sine of Africa program’s work with the Hadzabe community in Tanzania — a project centered on preserving and passing on indigenous knowledge through film.
